My first part of a week at the MTC has been spectacular. We taught yesterday after being there for only 2 1/2 days. It was super hard and I didn't understand what was happening. We are working on it to do better next time. I have learned lots in the language, but I still know very little. It was humbling that I couldn't even share basic sentences of what I believed in our lesson.
The food here is good and I have tried to limit what I eat so I don't gain weight. So far, I think it has worked. I am never hungry, but I am never super stuffed. We had exercise time yesterday for the first time and I loved it. The gym is closed, so no Basketball yet. We played soccer instead which was fine by me. I found out that sitting and eating for 3 straight days makes you pretty out of shape though.
My companion is super nice. He is from Utah, has red hair, and is named Elder Peck. He went to Lone Peak. The other missionaries in my district are all Slovak speaking as well. There are only 6 of us. Me and Elder Peck go to England. The others go to Slovakia. We are all here for 8 1/2 more weeks. The other missionaries in my district are Elder Arens, Elder Hammer, Sestra Huff, and Sestra McDonald. It is a good thing I like them all since we spend about 10 hours in a tiny room each day. My zone has all the Eastern European elders and sisters. We can all understand each other somewhat.
The MTC is a great place to feel God's love. I have had countless hours to study already and I have felt God reaching out to me. It is the most wonderful feeling. I have learned lots of Slovak. More than should be possible. I know that God helps us as we put in our best efforts. I promise you all that if you are ever struggling to know something or are having a hard time, you can pray. God hears. I have prayed so much in the few days I have been here. It is great.
Sorry there are no pictures, I will send some next week.
Love you all,
Elder Pace
PS Elder is different in Slovak so I am not actually called Elder Pace, but I can't write the letters with accents on this computer so I will still write Elder. Sestra is the Slovak word for Sister.
